Live Piano Performance Experience – Piano Jens Marbella
Live piano performance Marbella by Jens-Ebert Nordbjerg, a professional pianist and teacher based between Marbella and Estepona.
Piano Bar & Restaurant Performances
Live performance is an important part of my work as a pianist and piano teacher in Marbella. Performing regularly in venues, shows, and professional productions keeps my repertoire, timing, and musical instincts sharp. This real-world experience allows students to learn from a musician who actively works on stage as well as in the teaching studio.
Alongside teaching piano and music production in Bel-Air between Marbella and Estepona, I continue to perform across the Costa del Sol and internationally in a variety of musical settings ranging from solo piano and vocal performances to larger touring productions.
Live Piano Performance Marbella and the Costa del Sol
For many years I have performed professionally throughout Marbella, San Pedro, Estepona and surrounding areas. These performances include restaurants, hotels, private venues and concert settings where live piano and vocal music helps create the atmosphere of the evening.
This live piano performance Marbella experience comes from years of professional work across venues on the Costa del Sol.
The repertoire spans jazz standards, swing, soul, blues, classic pop and selected contemporary songs. Depending on the venue and setting, performances can range from elegant background piano to more energetic sets that invite audience interaction.
Working regularly in live environments strengthens musical skills such as timing, groove, phrasing and audience awareness. These same skills form an important part of piano lessons, helping students develop confidence, musical expression and performance awareness.
Solo Piano and Vocal Repertoire
Solo piano and vocal performances form the foundation of my live work. These performances focus on musical storytelling through melody, harmony and rhythm, drawing from decades of repertoire across multiple genres.
The programme includes jazz standards, soul classics, blues, swing, romantic ballads and well-known popular songs. This stylistic range reflects the same broad musical approach used in my teaching, where students learn to understand harmony, phrasing and interpretation across different styles of music.
Because solo performance places the entire musical responsibility on the pianist, it develops strong skills in timing, improvisation, accompaniment and musical structure — all essential elements of modern piano training.

Rock N Roll Animal – Classic Rock Duo
Rock N Roll Animal is a live duo featuring Ronnie Howells on guitar and backing vocals and Jens-Ebert Nordbjerg on keyboards and lead vocals.
The duo performs classic rock repertoire from the 1960s and 1970s, recreating the energy of legendary bands with Hammond organ textures, driving rhythm sections and powerful vocal harmonies.
Artists represented in the repertoire include Toto, Manfred Mann, Pink Floyd, Kool & The Gang and ZZ Top among others. The arrangements are adapted for a compact live lineup while maintaining the musical character of the original recordings.
Performing in this format requires strong ensemble communication, rhythmic precision and live arrangement skills — areas that are particularly valuable for students interested in playing in bands or developing stage experience.
ABBAMAX – International ABBA Tribute Production
Royal Caribbean Headliners - 200 + Cruises
In addition to solo and duo performances, I am the musical director of ABBAMAX, an internationally touring ABBA tribute production.
The show has performed on more than 200 cruise ships for Royal Caribbean and at venues around the world. The production recreates ABBA’s classic repertoire with live vocals, detailed musical arrangements and authentic stage presentation.
Directing a large-scale production involves coordinating musicians, singers, backing tracks and technical elements while maintaining musical accuracy and energy on stage.
This experience contributes directly to teaching topics such as live performance preparation, musical arrangement, timing with backing tracks and professional stage discipline.
Collaborative Studio Sessions and Remote Production
Patti Lows Singing Sanctuary Studio
During the COVID lockdown period musicians were often required to collaborate remotely across locations. Several recordings were produced using this method in collaboration with Patti Lows Singing Sanctuary Studio in San Pedro and my own studio in Bel-Air, Marbella.
Songs such as “Stumblin’ In” and “Georgie Porgy” were recorded with separate performances tracked in different studios and later combined during the mixing and production stage.
This type of work demonstrates how modern musicians combine performance skills with recording technology and production knowledge. These same workflows are explored in music production lessons using Logic Pro and other professional tools.
How Professional Performance Experience Benefits Piano Students
Students often benefit greatly from learning with a teacher who actively performs.
Regular live performance develops musical instincts that cannot be learned from theory alone. These include timing, groove, communication with other musicians, improvisation and stage confidence.
Lessons can therefore include practical insights drawn directly from professional performing situations such as:
• how to accompany singers
• how to play confidently in a band
• how to structure live arrangements
• how to manage timing and rhythm in ensemble settings
• how to prepare for performances and auditions
